Again with the Natalie posts. I guess one never really grows up as a fan.
The object of my fanhood though, is all grown up, playing motherly and wifey roles in the big screen. Oscar contending film Brothers by Jim Sheridan (In America, In the Name of the Father), tells the story of Grace (Portman) who has to endure the loss of his Afghanistan-lurking husband Sam (Tobey Maguire in a strong performance, says critics) when his chopper was gunned down somewhere in the Middle East, supposedly leaving him dead. His black-sheep brother, Tommy (Jake Gyllenhaal), steps up as the family man, comforting grace and the children. When Sam returns to the surprise of everyone, like some kind of a resurrection, tension arises and thus the conflict of the story.
Even with all that brilliance, I only care about seeing Portman in the role, and the little girl who plays her daughter Isabelle, who looks like a cross between Maguire and Katie Holmes. Besides, I've nothing interesting to say. #

gosh, natalie looks so beautiful...when i am going to be a wife and mom, i wanna look just like her!!
anyway, no need to worry about the revolving plate anymore, justine no longer dorms here, clyde et al. are thinking of buying a new one...=)
and, yey!!!let's see each other soon!!!=)
Really excited to see Nat play a different type of role in "Brothers". I mean she did play a mother in "Cold Mountain" didn't she? It wasn't a very big part. Can't wait!
@ TIFFANY. Oh yeah, she did! Forgot about that. She had a little baby with her then, but now she's mothering a pack, imagine! :D
@CORY. What? You're shouldering the revolving plate? Aww, super sorry, but thanks.
For sure you'll be look like her when you become a mom, Cor. ;) But you've to watch the flick and learn the lesson! Don't assume the husband is dead, ever. Hahaha.
Did anybody see this movie yet? Natalie really came through with her role. I loved seeing her as a mother. Tobey stole the show though. I didn't think he could play such a dark character. Absolutely loved this film.
Has it been released? Do you think it's Oscar worthy, with Natalie and Tobey deserving some nods?
i just saw it last night and loved it! Nat is great and her romantic scenes with Jake were such a tease ... you really want them to get together for real even though it seems kinda wrong. oh so complicated. anyway, it's a great flick, go see it!
